Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Florish helps you track nutrition during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Your health is personal, and so is your data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are privacy-first by design.
Our Privacy Commitments
We do NOT sell your personal data, ever.
We do NOT share your data with employers, insurers, data brokers, or advertisers.
We do NOT require you to provide your state or country of residence to use Florish.
We do NOT use your reproductive-health data for advertising or build advertising profiles about you.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app.
Information We Collect
Profile information you provide: life stage (pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning), due date or baby birth date, age range, dietary restrictions, and optional body metrics (height, weight, activity level) used only to personalize your calorie target.
Meal data: photos you take to scan meals, the foods identified, portion sizes, and the resulting nutrient estimates and food-safety flags.
Usage data: anonymous, aggregated product analytics (for example, that a scan occurred) used to improve the app. This is pseudonymous and is not sold or used for advertising.
Account data: if you choose to create an account with Apple or Google, we receive a basic identifier and, where you permit it, your email address. Using Florish without an account is supported.
How We Use Your Information
To identify foods in your meal photos and estimate their nutrients using AI vision and the USDA FoodData Central database.
To calculate your daily nutrient progress against pregnancy- and lactation-specific reference intakes and to surface relevant food-safety information.
To send the reminders and notifications you enable, and to operate, secure, and improve the service.
We process meal photos only to perform the scan. Photos are associated with your account so you can review your history, and you can delete them at any time.
How Your Data Is Stored and Protected
Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) using industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted by row-level security so that you can only access your own data.
Meal-scan AI processing is performed by our backend, which calls the Anthropic Claude API for vision analysis. We do not send your identity to third-party AI providers beyond what is necessary to perform the scan.
Third-Party Services
Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat; we receive subscription status but not your full payment details.
Nutrient data comes from the USDA FoodData Central (public domain) and Open Food Facts (ODbL) databases.
Product analytics are provided by PostHog. We configure analytics to avoid collecting sensitive reproductive-health details.
Your Rights and Choices
Access and deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your meals, daily totals, supplements, and profile.
Notifications: You control all reminders from Settings, and you can revoke notification permission in your device settings at any time.
Data portability and questions: contact us for any privacy request.
Children's Privacy
Florish is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here and at our hosted policy URL with an updated date.
